Intro
In 2020, SUSE – the biggest open-source player in the Linux implementation market, acquired Kubernetes start-up Rancher. Both had a clear vision: being known as the leading open-source innovator in the world.
Rebranding an icon
Deloitte Digital was entrusted with the challenge of fusing these two strong brands. The brand refresh needed to capture the heart and soul of both companies while aligning them to one strong, shared identity.
The rebrand also doubled as a way to position SUSE as a leader in the industry and create global awareness. In essence, it is the power of many coming together to form and shape their optimistic view on the future of tech and the industry.

The key to success
We put together an interdisciplinary team of brand strategists, designers and neuroscientists to develop a unique and relevant identity to update the SUSE brand and integrate Rancher. Using a neuroscience-based method, we studied their audience, their industry, and their competition. On this basis, we developed a clear positioning and narrative. A team of designers started to build a completely new design system, based on ”Innovate Everywhere” for a fresh and contemporary look.
